Dog Hikes
At Country Club Pet Resort, we believe getting outdoors is important to your dog’s health and happiness! Our dog hikes are a Customer and Dog favorite! That’s why we believe our OFF or ON leash dog hiking adventure is just what your dog needs to expend energy!
We hop right into our Pet Taxi Van and hit the trails running! Your dog gets to enjoy a great outdoor adventure with other dogs, meeting their socializing and exercising needs and migrating like a pack wolves! Add on a Hike to your dog's day care or boarding stay with us.
The Power Of The Pack
Our dog hikes are 40-minutes in duration.
We hike in the desert in North Grand Junction, just 7 minutes away from our resort! We park in the same spot each time and we hike 2 specific trails the dogs always know. We walk at a fast pace and migrate with the pack all the while, they are using their Scent and getting to be canines, which is very important for these canines to be balanced and happy.
New To The Pack Hikes?
We always keep new dogs on leash at least the first hike so they know the routine, get familiar with the trail and this give us a chance to access them as well On leash. If your dog is new dog our doggy day care, we do like to give them 3-4 visits to get to know us before taking them hiking.
Please email us or call to discuss if your dog is an Avid hiker and they will be ok off leash sooner!
Mental Stimulation & Enrichment:
Hiking offers endless new, stimulating scents and sights, which act as a form of mental engagement that calms dogs, reduces anxiety, and prevents boredom-induced destructive behaviors at home.
Energy Burn & Behavioral Improvement:
For high-energy dogs, hiking is a great way to burn off excessive energy in a way that regular, short walks cannot, resulting in better behavior.
Physical Health & Conditioning:
Unlike walking on flat pavement, hiking involves climbing, uneven, and natural terrain, which improves cardiovascular health, muscle tone, and joint strength. It is an effective way to prevent obesity and associated diseases like diabetes or arthritis.
We also offer training so your dog can learn how to be off leash! It's the Power of the Pack!
If the hikes are too fast-paced for your older dog or a slower-paced pup, we do offer our Neighborhood leash walks!
